Pump humming but not starting? Stop and read this 🔧⚠️
1️⃣ Switch off the power. A motor that hums but can't turn draws very high current and overheats fast. Don't keep resetting the breaker.
2️⃣ Look for the signs: humming with no rotation, starting only when the shaft is spun by hand, a tripping breaker, or a bulging/leaking capacitor.
3️⃣ Call a technician. On single-phase pumps the start capacitor is the usual suspect, but a stuck impeller, worn bearings or low voltage can cause the same symptom.
⚠️ Capacitors can hold a charge even when the power is off. Leave inspection and replacement to a qualified electrician.
